NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said next season would provide the perfect opportunity to change the NBA All-Star Game format to “feature some form of USA vs. the World,” and Dan Patrick is optimistic that this will make the game watchable for fans but warns that the starting 5 from around the world is better than any starting 5 that Team USA can put on the floor.
Dan Patrick: “Team USA would probably, well they will have a deeper roster, but they won’t have the best players because the best players are not from the United States. The starting 5 from around the world will be better than the staring 5 from Team USA, but I want to see what happens game goes along because that’s when you start to get the competitive…you know, this is down through history where you get guys that maybe didn’t care as much but then they cared because the game was on the line. Hopefully you have that.”
